I have a Baxi Bermuda S gas boiler and just recently it has started making a rumbling noise when the gas burner is on. It sounds similar to the noise you get from a blow torch when it's just been lit and isn't burning smoothly. The noise happens ONLY when the burner is lit. It also doesn't happen the whole time, it's intermittent, happening only a couple of times each evening. Any suggestions?
Many thanks for any useful info.
Kind regards
Luke H

Sounds as if the burner needs cleaning, get in a qualified gas engineer to service the boiler. It is prudent to do this annually anyway.

In the UK only corgi registered gas fitters / plumbers can do this legally. I you do it yourself and the thing does go bang your insurance won't cover any damage.

could be gas pressure to boiler, gas valve sticking, or overheat stat. In any of the above cases, call a corgi registered engineer to have a look and diagnose the problem

its the pump overrun circuit. your boiler has a overrun on the pump to cool it down when its turned off, it sounds as if the bearings in the pump are worn as you would not normally hear this happening.
