Character would be a person's set of "standards which they chose to live by." This can mean something different to each person you might ask.
Character: Standard of morals, ethics, values and principles.

Strength of Character: Living by that same "high standard" whether anyone is around to witness it, or not.

One I can think of is that they keep going, even when they face major setbacks. They do what they can and make the best of each situation. they don't sit back and wait for someone to help them. If they need help they ask, but do the most they can for themselves.
Also, a person who can stand up for what's right or stand up for their beliefs despite what popular opinion is. They are not afraid to disagree. A person who defends another or doesn't look away when another is being treated unjustly. They stand up to "the system" or other people who are mistreating someone; they do not just join in because everyone else is doing it.

Also, they don't just have blind faith in everything they hear or read, but check the facts. They don't just "follow the crowd" but really think about what they are doing and why.

I believe self confidence is a major sign of a good strong character,because it makes one believe in his abilities and try to achieve them.and also having strong effect on people you meet is also a sign of strong character.

Good morale.Always telling the truth.Always treating others with respect even if they do not treat you the same way.Helping others when then are down.Always doing the right thing even though it is hard at times.

I believe that would be integrity....they are true to who they are and do not mold to any situation.
