From experience, I rather work for a man. Men are more easy going. Women are too uptight and think they have something to prove. (Though my ideal job would be to work for no one but myself.)

in general, I would prefer working for a man. they are easier to please in general and if you need something done, it's easier to brown-nose them. :)
As for me in the dental field, I would prefer female dentists as a boss, just from my experience. Just my 2 cents
