I would say breaking up with your fiancee just because of a birthday present is not worth it. You might run the risk of her refusing to get back with you.

If it's your birthday, then just accept her present to you, even if it's horrible. Just give her a kiss and pretend to love it. A little white lie wouldn't hurt.

If it's her birthday, and for whatever reason you cannot get or buy her a birthday present, then try getting her something from the heart. Maybe write her a poem or a song. Bake her some of her favorite cookies or brownies. Cook her a romantic dinner. A birthday present does not allows have to be bought in order to show that you care. It's the thought that counts!

Dont be foolish. You really dont love her. Any person with common sense will see through the game. If you dont have money to get a present, borrow some and buy one.
Suppose you do this and get away this year, what are you going to do next year when her birthday is arond, or is it that you intend ditching her after her forthcoming birthday?
In either case, you arent being fair to this girl, and dont deserve her friendship.

you might also try picking a huge fight on February 13, then buy the half priced flowers and candy on the 15 (this is when you'd make up) to avoid an expensive Valentine's day

If your really smart you'll break up with her on December 24th and get back with her on February 15th. Then you miss X-mas, her birthday, and Valentines day. Good Luck With That!!

Yeah, that's an awesome idea. Give yourself a cookie for that one. You sound like a hopeless romantic

I don't think so.

As you are planning on marrying this person why would you want to hurt them? If you can't afford anything make a romantic dinner.

Only if you'd be ok with the idea of her doing the same thing to YOU.
