I'd like to give each family member an ornament for their Christmas trees - an ornament featuring a picture of the recipient with my precious precious father, from a Christmas past.

This is our first Christmas without him.

I have the photos gathered, digitally and otherwise, but have no ideas. I am a crafting neophyte, but I have quick access to a Michaels and am also willing to consider ornaments made by others using my photos, but I don't know what those would be either, or how to find them.
Thanks for you help and Merry Christmas.

It's too late to give you any mail order sites, so my suggestion is going to be like many others. Try your local Dollar tree. They truly do have some lovely little frames, just the size to hang on a tree. You should spray on a coat of polyurethane, before placing in the picture. This will prevent any discoloring.Look for ones that have a Lacey frame with openings to insert a lonely ribbon. Leave the thing on the back that allows the frame to stand, in case the recipient wishes to display the photo after Christmas. A lovely idea you have. Have a Merry Christmas.

Can you get those small photo frames, probably made out of glass or acrylic, with two hearts (one for each picture) side by side? If you get them made from acrylic, you can drill a small hole in the top for the hanger.

BTW, that's probably the sweetest gift idea I've heard of all year. You're an angel. Good luck with your project!

Here is a site I ran across while trying to help you.

bypass out and carry at the same time some dry pine cones (not the fairway ones). Get diverse colorations of glitter, glue, and some thread or string. Tie somewhat of string to the right maximum 'leaf' of the pine cone. spread the glitter out on a paper. positioned glue on the regulations of the pine cone leaves (which is called scales) and roll the regulations with the help of the glitter. carry close them as a lot as try. they are also cool in case you paint or spray the cones white first.
