Does anyone else find this statement insulting, strongly anti British and Racist!

99% of people I know are very hard working, the British work some of the longest hours in the whole of Europe.

Yet people keep saying this, many of them are British themselves.

We are not lazy, we have one of the strongest work ethics in the world! The amount of immigrants who have entered this country and also the different communities they have set up i.e in Bradford/Birmingham etc where very big areas are almost no go areas for white people, especially at night!

The British culture is being diluted, and i know for sure if large amounts of British people were to migrate over to most of their country of origine and tried to impose our culture on them their would be big trouble, as they simply would not allow it!

People should stop generalsing about everyone else. I work hard and so do most of the people I know. Being lumped in as 'lazy' is insulting and degrading.
The British do work some of the longest hours in Europe, we also have the least public holidays and a soon to be incresed retirement age.
The welfare state is there to help. It helped me between jobs when I would have been destitite or on the streets. I am grateful for that help but I was relieved to get a job and I have been working ever since. Some people will always be lazy and every nationality has lazy people.
We hardly import immigrants, we have to fight to keep them out!

The welfare gadget desires an entire overhaul. there's no clarification why somebody ought to have the potential to stay to tell the tale reward indefinitely through fact they sense they are too good for a job at McDonalds, cleansing hotel rooms or choosing fruit, yet don't have the practise or paintings adventure to qualify for something greater suitable. somebody who's out of paintings must be provided 3 jobs in the process the job Centre over a 6 month era, and in the event that they decline, their reward must be shrink. Why ought to those who paintings hard and take any job be forced to subsidise people who're able to working yet might somewhat be on the dole? There does not be as many jap Europeans or illegals coming to the united kingdom to do menial jobs if those jobs have been taken via natives

If you look at a brief work related history of England, British people do not like to get their hands dirty, I think this is what the statement means.
It is the service industry jobs which are usually the most important that nobody in this country wants to do and these are usually the ones that suffer the most: nurses, underground, catering etc. The statement is however a very stereotypically view.

..even those who do not have a 'job' work hard..i am an example..a single mum on benefits...and i work my backside off every day of my life...as do most i know...there are exceptions and always will be but we are not a 'lazy' race...we may chill out once all the work is done but that rest is well earned...this country is full and there are not enough jobs as it is...we need no importing of people to complete the workforce...as soon as my child is at school full time i will be looking into college and furthering my qualifications in order to support my son and put something back into this messed up country...and to make me more fulfilled...we, as a nation, have been self sustaining for a long time and need no more fcuking taxi drivers...happy hols...

no we are not lazy in fact the opposite we are being pushed out of jobs and finding it increasingly hard to get a job because company's know that immigrants will work for little money but to immigrants is a lot of money.....not only that they claim all the benefits they can get. and yes i find it insulting they have no idea what it's like living with taxs on tax and really low wages because of all the ******* immigrants go to london there is hardly a british person there.

All the industry has been closed down as is cheaper to make things abroad. We had the finest docks in the world, but they have been closed down. We are not lazy, there is no incentive to work as pay is so low.

It is the fault of systematic governments. They have sold us out, and made it virtually impossible for businesses to run, as taxes are so high.

All the big housing estates were built round the industries. Now they have gone, where is there to work? Never mind - have children even if you cannot afford to keep yourself, the government in it's infinite wisdom will just dish the money out to you.

There is too much fuss about going to university, and not everyone is suited, and there are no practical skills taught in schools, and very few apprentiships.

Yes it is insulting. This is the sort of thing someone would say when they have no idea about the british economy, and act in naevity......Its not that we are lazy (although there are some who are) its just that immigrants are cheap labour, and dont mind working for next to nothing, or what kind of job they do.

Speaking as someone who is British, bone idle AND PROUD OF IT< I couldn't agree more.

I have worked for 37 years, since leaving school and I can honestly say, that I have done the MINIMUM required to get me through every single day. I grudge my employer every minute of my time.

As a European, I think there is more to life than working. I'm doing this whilst at work, incidentally.

It's the idiotic uneducated Brits that make statements like this.

The same people that moan about immigrants coming over are the same dole scroungers who moan there's no jobs, well there must be because the immigrants don't have too much trouble working.

most of the people i know are very hard working and they don't get much back for it. It is insulting.
