First off, get rid of the cats. If they aren't anybodies, then the apt manager should get rid of them. Then, you will need to wash EVERYTHING(including curtains, shades, shower curtains, rugs, etc.) in hot water(as long as it can be washed in hot water). Use and extra rinse cycle on your washer if there is one. Also, put some Borax(it's a cleaning aid that is only a couple of dollars at Target) in the washer with everything you wash. Then vacuum EVERYWHERE including ALL furniture. Then you can sprinkle Borax and/or flea powder everywhere(including mattresses) and let it sit there then vacuum everywhere again. You can also buy a flea collar and put it in the vacuum while you vacuum since what you vacuum up may not be dead. You could always put the flea powder in there also. You should tell your apt manager(or whoever it is that you need to tell) that they should get an exterminator out there to bomb your yard(if they won't do it then you'll need to do it yourself). Then you'll need to do all the stuff again in your car cause more then likely if they are on you and in your house they will be in your car(if you have one). This should do the trick, it's worked for everyone that I've told. Make sure you vacuum everyday and wash the bedding and everything regularly.
-And also, the bombs don't ALWAYS work. Its hard for those to get under furniture and everything, plus you'll need to be out of the house ALL day. Hope this helps!!!

If it gets to a point where the place is infested to much, you should call an exterminator if thats okay with the manager of your apt. Vacuuming first, then gettting a generic spray to spray on the carpet - everywhere. Vacuum off chairs, spray chairs, make sure you get your pet completely free of fleas as well. Also try to wash everything - like blankets, sheets, pillows... Hope this helps! And good luck!

First of all, get rid of the cats. If no one is caring for these flea bitten transmitters of disease, they need to be eradicated immediately.
This will stop the constant new supply of the invading bloodsucking parasitical troups known as fleas that the cats are bringing in. Once the cats are gone and the fleas primary feeding source eliminated, then getting rid of the ones left behind in the apartment will be much easier.
You'll need to vacuum thoroughly, mop, clean every nook and cranny to get rid of the fleas and their eggs, which will continue to hatch and repopulate until you end the cycle.
Without the cats though, the fleas days will be numbered. Also, you will likely always have recurrences of this flea problem, even if you are somewhat succesful in poisoning the fleas, as long as the cats are present. Remember, the poison kills the fleas, so how good is it for you to live in a poisoned house? Get rid of the cats- fleas carry diseases

You need to get a flea bomb for your apartment (or fogger) those are the only things that work. Make sure to read the directions.... turn the a/c off and leave the apartment for 4 hours.
Good luck, been there done that just last week~!

u carry the fleas in on ur shoes. and would even if there werent cats around ur apt. they naturally live in grass and such so its normal. but bc of the cats there is a higher count around where u live, thus the huge amount in ur apt. there are bug bombs (some specifically for fleas) that u can set off in ur apt. u can get them at walmart, grocery store, etc. just make sure all animals, plants, etc are out. also dont leave out dishes, etc bc it will get covered in the fog pesticides. just follow instructions on back of box and all fleas will be gone.
