He's an exciting candidate: young, articulate, appears to be intelligent.

I just don't know anything about where he stands politically or how he would govern.

Good question.

Not at all. He is very immature and too young to be running a country. He would crack under the pressure fast. It would be a different world from his Senate seat in Illinois. And the fact his popularity came about from having his book shown on Oprah goes to show just how "big" a political figure he is and would be if given the White House. Even in his book it goes to show his immaturity towards a lot of cases and subjects. Two months ago, did anyone even know who he was? Sen. Obama of Illinois (D), 2005-Present? He would be eaten alive in the Presidential race of 2008 by the other Democrats.

He is just having 15 minutes of fame thanks to Oprah's show. You rarely even see him in the news now anymore. He has come and gone, rock star status with a one hit wonder that lasted for a week or two.

Mabey in a few years. He doesn't have enough political experience. He sounds like he would. I just don't think he has the capabilities to perform the job YET> Bush has tried for the last 8 years, with no luck. Barack would make a good president- in 2012

He is wonderful at charming people and leading them to believe that because he's so personable, he'll be a good President, but he has neither the experience nor the knowledge to ACTUALLY succeed at the presidency. Maybe he should wait a couple of years and try again. In addition, his voting record is incredibly liberal which will most likely hurt his chances in '08 as most Democrats went middle-of-the-road/conservative this year. People being people, though, I'd bet a good deal of them are blindsided by his charm and eloquence.

Senator Barack Obama has a stage presence about him which only two other Presidents have had Ronald Regan and John Kennedy. Two Presidents who have been very popular with the American public!!

The kids love him...like a rock star. He is charismatic yes, an excellent speaker, but that usually goes with being a lawyer. But the truth is, we don't really know enough about him yet to be able to tell. He is still too new in the political arena to be considered for the presidency.

THe DEMS. dont have anyone worth my vote including Barack right now In 6 years WHO KNOWS??

It very difficult to say, seeing that he has very limited experience. With the climate in the world today I'm somewhat hesitant to put someone in office without the experience, but at the same time the fresh perspective may be good. He seems like a good guy.

His speeches sound good but if you look into his stand on the issues I would have to say no. Like many other politicians he is charismatic and knows what to say.
He is against checking ID at the polls because according to him it discriminates against the poor but the national ID for voting that has been suggested would be issued to citizens for free. His real reason for not supporting the ID check at the polls is to allow the vote by illegals who normally vote democrat. He also is very inexperienced.

No, not yet anyway, he has no experience in running anything. He's only been a senator for 100 weeks. Also he's a senator. History shows senators don't get elected to the presidency. Oh yeah, he's way too liberal too!
