To reduce the class size to 30, you would have to take 5 from each class, that's 18X5=90, then divide 90 by 3. So you will need 3 new classes.

18 classes have 5 too many student in each.
So, 18*5 = 90
You have ninety students that need a classroom.
Each classroom has room for 30 students.
So, 90/30 = 3
