That's very possible. Brown is a sign of older blood, though. Bright red is fresh and new. Brown could also be a sign of other problems.
But unless you feel lots of cramping (like worse than a period or as bad as a period) then you probably don't have anything to worry about.
Sometimes the placenta will tear a little from the uterus from too much physical strain done by the mother and it will bleed and sometimes it takes a little while for that blood to come out so it will come out brown because it's not fresh and new. Sometimes it's just from the body stretching and trying to adapt to the changes of size and other factors of the pregnancy.
It can be common to spot during pregnancy, just so long as there's no pain accompanied with it.
I spotted and bled a lot and had really bad cramps with my first baby. I was a very active person, but my body just could not handle it. I almost lost my baby and the doctor said I'd have to quit my cushy job! It was very hard, but worth it cuz I ended up just fine and so did my baby who is turning three next Wed.
So, hang in there. If you're worried about anything just take it really easy, drink plenty of water, get LOTS of rest, and relax. Don't stress yourself out because it can make it worse.
Good luck and congrats on the pregnancy!

Hunny, I have been there and you will go crazy waiting. Call your midwife again and tell them that you need to be seen that you are scared and want another appt today. They should, but if they dont, go to the hospital. I am so sorry, just stay very calm and everything could be ok. My mother bleed bright red blood all through her pregnancy with my little sister and now she is 11. Just stay clam and tell them to make an appt today. I hope that everything will be ok, and I will say a prayer for you. God Bless and I wish you the best of luck.

I had similar, and with me it was an implantation bleed. I remember they were not able to scan before a certain number of weeks at a special unit in the maternity hospital (cannot remeber if 6 or 7 and I would have had to wait till the following week as not enough weeks pregnant).
They just told me to rest.
If you are really worried I would call midwife again to see if they can see you earlier.
Good luck with pregnancy

Hunny, my heart goes out to you. I went through the same and altohough mine did turn out to my miscarriage it's not always the case. Rather than stressing about it contact your GP or the early pregnancy unit at your local hospital. Both will do a blood test to check the hormone levels in your blood and then you'll have to go back 24 hours later for another test. I'm afraid if the hormaone level drops they will advise you you are miscarrying. Just remember, I know it shounds harsh, but many women miscarry and go on to have healthy pregnancies. I miscarried and two months later got pregnant again. The first few months were hell worrying. But I now have a beautiful two year old. If in doubt always contact your GP.

I've had two miscarriages, two children and am now 37 weeks with my third baby. I experienced what you are describing with my two children and this baby. I was told that it was the egg implanting itself in to the uterus. With my miscarriages, there was never any brown blood (which is old blood) only bright red. However, always get things checked out as I am not a medical professional but I do hope what I've said eases your mind a little.

you could desire to make certain your surgeon who ought to refer you to a wellbeing center for extra checks as after 3 miscarriages they're going to usually run some checks to make certain if there's a reason you're miscarrying. My heart is going out to you because it particularly is an exceedingly difficult time. you need to communicate with your husband and clarify the way you sense, you're in this jointly and he has to attempt and understand your thoughts. make an effort which you would be able to desire to mourn this loss and then once you're waiting pass forward. I choose you each and every of the superb.
