the plans to build this courthouse if i heard this right will cost the us tax payers sixty million bucks,why so much?why cant they bring them to an undisclosed federal courthouse somewhere in the states and try them.and for who ever says its to much of a security issue to bring them here,im going to need a heck of alot
of convincing to prove otherwise.

The whole detention of persons at Guantamo Bay is totally illegal as would be any courthouse built to try individuals held there.

Those plans were scrapped. They can't bring them into the United States cause then they would be afforded the same rights under the constitution that a normal criminal has. As of now they are being treated in the spirit of the Geneva Convention.

If there is a legitimate utility for the building after the trials, I suppose it would make sense to build it.
