I suspect catasthrophic drive failure. Remove the physical drive in question and load it as a slave on another computer running 2k or better. If it boots, it's not rive failure, but a problem on the original system, a worm, try antivirus. If it fails, consider the drive dust and throw it away, or look up data rescue services... you can also, for a low low chance of it working, freeze the drive to get the platters alighned (overnight) and if it does work, you'll have an hour or less (depending on weather) to get your data off of it.

yes, it souns dramatic, but this is a dramatic problem.

When 2 drives disappear, I suspect a cable problem. Power down the box unplug all the wires, open it up, and make sure the IDE cables (wide flat cables going to drives) are plugged in tight at all ends. Put everything back together and see if they appear.

If not, a drive failure (in one drive) is masking the other one. disconnect 1 drive at a time and see if the others appear.

If all else fails, take it to a repair shop or call your friendly computer repairman.

You have not mentioned whether D & E drives are logical drives or optical drives. If they are optical drives, simply install / reinstall the latest service pack of Windows version you are using and then install Nero software. They will come back.
If they are logical drives i.e. partitions of a hard disk, then, backup all your relevant data and reboot your system with a bootable Win 98 floppy and type
fdisk
at the command prompt. Delete all logical drives, extended partitions and the active patririon, reboot and then create new paritions and format them and then install the operating system.
All that is lost will come back.

If it's a worm , then try to get an updated anti-virus to get rid of it ... other wise try formatting the whole PC
