i wanna believe they do have soul.
but that makes us Human beings special...
not our intellect nor our emotions,
but the responsibility of keeping our Soul intact.

but then again, we tend to stoop lower than the animals-
it makes me think either we dont have soul-
or we could lose it in an instant.

As a Catholic and a Thomist I would say yes animals have souls. According to Aquinas a soul is a substantial form with prime matter - which is what an animal is. Humans are just rational substantial forms with prime matter. All material things have a form, the difference between animate and inanimate things is the degree of autonomy they can exercise - humans have the greatest because they are rational. That rationality enables their form to carry on after the prime matter dies. Forms that are not rational die with the prime matter.

There are a few religions that believe that souls must work their way from the lowest forms of life to the highest forms of life, before being able to pass on from the grip of this world. Karma plays a role in that as the soul collects too much bad karma, it gets knocked down a level or two, thus having to work it's way back up to higher levels.

God knows! Are we sure even about ourselves?
My logic though makes me believe that every life is driven by a soul which controls the mind. Yet the greater individuality of the human mind does indicate a stronger soul than those of other beings.

Yes, they most assuredly do. They have their own essence and are cognisant, sentient beings with the ability to feel love, sadness, pain and fear just the same as we do. If one wanted to go the religious route, they were created from the same source that we were and will return to the same place when they leave this earth.

Genesis 1:30: "... and to every animal of the earth, and to every fowl of the heavens, and to everything that creepeth on the earth, in which is a living soul, every green herb for food. And it was so."
Revelation 5:13 KJV: "And every creature which is in heaven, and on earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying. Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever."

And frankly, in my opinion animal souls are purer than human ones.

Soul is the only way to connect with that supreme power and since animals are also created by that spreme power thus have soul.

Yes. I think all objects have souls...it's just that only the intelligent ones realise it. I think some animals are intelligent enough to recognise that they have souls.

Absolutely. The soul is a combination of your mind, emotions, and subconcious. Whether they have a spirit, and if it continues on after they die, that is a different question.
