Put shorts in freezer.
Set freezer as cold as you can.
Leave for 15- minutes
take shorts out. the gum will crack and break in pieces, it looses it's elasticity and you can remove most of it.

Use Ice Cubes, make sure it is frozen all over and them it should lift off, or what I have done in the past in put the item in a freezer for about 1/2 to 1 hour and that also works.

put shorts on counter and put a ice cube on it for about 10 minutes then if you have a razor blade gently start peeling it off.
