I think Shevchenko would b required more. Ballack is better but chelsea have a strong midfield. Without Ballack they would still perfom but without Shevchenko it would mean that their attack would b weak.

I have been a staunch Ballack fan since the last 6 years,so obviously I might say Ballack, but the reason most of you are saying Ballack right now is just because he is playing splendidly at the moment and the so called "pundits" in most sports channels are lauding him to the sky. When he arrived this season at Chelsea, I saw at least half a dozen "pundits" in sports channels wondering why Chelsea spent so much money on a player they don't need at all. They were demonstrating with the help of charts and projectors how the presence of Lampard in the midfield leaves no place for a Ballack. When Ballack got that red card in his second match, the pundits of at least two channels (I watched them with my own eyes) repeated their theory with quite a few I-told-you-so's.Now,a couple of months later, the same pundits have nothing but praise for him. The same is true for Sheva. Everyone knows that Sheva is on a very poor run at the moment. But those who know how to read signs know better. I assure you that he is finding that old touch of his which had him branded The AC Milan Hitman. He just needs a little time. If he is still on a poor run at the end of the season, then I guess you would be right in saying he is nothing ,but I tell you, he won't be.
Errr.......sorry for the lecture...the answer to your question....
BALLACK!!!

I think Chelsea need Shevchenko more. Although he isn't in form at the moment, he is more needed than Ballack because Chelsea need forwards more than central midfielders. Chelsea usually play the 4-4-2 which means Shevchenko, Drogba or Kalou is playing up front but in the central midfield position there is Ballack, Makelele, Lampard, Mikel, Essien and Diarra. Unless you played a midfield diamond, generally only two of those players can be selected but this means Chelsea's wingers miss out. They include: Robben, J. Cole and Wright-Phillips. So I think Shevchenko is more needed than Ballack in the Chelsea squad.
