If you get an interview make sure you prepare well and take some sort of portfolio with you to impress them.

Once you have applied and sent all of your transcripts and test results, there is very little else you can do but hope and pray. Worrying will not increase your chances. If the school only accepts 38 students, you are already facing competition. It is better to not put all your hopes into one school. Having an alternative will make any possible disappointment easier to take. It is not a matter of them not "wanting " you. There are just a few spaces to fill. If you want to study film production, you are headed towards a very competitive business as well. Get used to the worry and don't take setbacks too personally.

Do things that differentiate you from other students; you will all be competing. Do some volunteer work, help a charity, join a spots team, write poetry; do anything to show that you are a well-rounded individual with plenty of life experience. They'll let you in. Besides, film production is a pretty specialist course. They may not even get 38 applicants.

i am a third year student at university studying media, and alas i've had to go through interviews and processes where i had to send off my work to the unis i've applied to go to. just like what you're about to do yourself. i've had offers rejected or offers where i turned them down. eventually, i ended up studying media arts with journalism. regardless of how popular or not the university is or the reputation it has, you have to demonstrate to them that you are ideal for this course. i'd say don't fret. the fact that the university have shown an interest to you in the first place, shows how much effort they've to make this happen. utilmately however, it rests in your hands. remain optimistic and focused. what the course leaders will ask is questions about why you've chosen this course, what is it about it that appeals to you, what do you intend to bring on this course, how is this going to benefit you in the future, after when you graduate. if you have a portfolio of work such as video, dvd, mini disc material then bring them along to the interview. bring a portfolio of written work, be it essays, assignments on your current course. when i did this, this helped me a great deal as it landed me a place on a media arts course. film production is no different- rather much of the emphasis is placed on the practical rather than theoretical study and it seems to me that you've chosen a course where you have a lot of passion towards film production. be relatively confident but not cocky. if they ask you a question relating to film production, be sure that you are able to answer it and answer it well. remember that on the day of the interview, you are literatelly going to be interviewed by people who are knowledgeable and skilled in film production and alas, you should be familiar with some of the film jargon as well as know how to operate a camcorder.
be yourself and give it your best shot. i wish you the very best of luck and merry christmas!

if youve already applied, then there isnt much else you can do unless youre offered an interview.
if you do get an interview, then my main advice would be to just be yourself. i dont know you, but i can tell even just from that little bit of info that you are so passionate about this, and thats exactly what universities want - they want students who are going to be excited and motivated, who are willing to work hard and be dedicated. i can tell that this is you, so just make sure they know that! good luck!!

an interview is the best way to impress (in my opinion) but if u didnt have an interview, then your personal statement is the next best thing. i know you have already sent it, but as long as you sounded confident and committed to the course you want to do, then i'm sure you will be fine. good luck!
