It's normal for first time mums to start feeling the baby move sometime around the twenty week mark, or even later, so my guess is you'll be feeling it in an unmistakeable way sometime over the next few weeks. If you're worried at all though please speak to your midwife, I'm sure she'd let you hear the heartbeat again if it puts your mind at rest.

You always feel the baby move later in your first pregnancy. This is because you don't know what you're going to feel. The butterfly sensations are associated with the baby moving. Trust me when you get to about 24 weeks and the baby's practicing their football moves you'll be wishing you couldn't feel it. My first slept all day and then kicked all night. I'm sure everythings fine but as the saying goes If in doubt ask your midwife. After all that's what they are for!

I'm 24 weeks and when I was 19 weeks I had the same concerns as you. I never had any of the fluttering or butterfly sensations but did have some small kicks just before my 20 weeks scan (which confirmed everything was fine). Give another few weeks, it's worth the wait. You could always get one of those heartbeat monitor things if you can't wait! :)

As long as you are hearing your babys heartbeat I dont think you have nothing to worry about - if you are an active person the smallest movements can be masked - it was 24 weeks before I felt my son kick - I had a lot of amniotic fluid so this also did not help with me being able to feel Joshua movements but once he started ne never stopped - I felt my youngest son alot earlier.
I hope all goes well with your pregnancy and dont get to anxious this might mask small movements too.

with a first pregnancy, it may be anytime up until around 22/24 weeks before u feel a definate kick. if u want reassurance, ask ur midwife, but it all depends on the mothers weight, body type and position of the baby as to when it will be felt xx

You will probably feel it in the next week or so. My midwife told me 19 or 20 weeks. I doubt that a midwife would start to get worried about it for some time yet and if you contact her I'm sure she will just tell you not to worry.

I didn't feel any movement until week 20 or 21. The baby was fine, though, as we heard her heart beat at every doctor's appointment and saw her moving around like a little monkey on three different ultrasounds. It's normal for every woman to feel the movements at different times. I just wasn't as sensitive to the kicks and punches as some women are.

I also had the butterfly's at about 18 weeks. You should start to feel kicking anytime from 20 weeks, sometimes it's not as hard. A nice way to get the baby to kick a bit more, is to kind of poke where he/she kicked you. I used to do it with my baby and he then kicked a lot. It's kind of a game to them! Enjoy your pregnancy, especially all the people trying to warn you about everything! Afterwards they only care about the baby!

Im sure we're worrying for nothing. Good luck x

i substitute into 120lbs 5'3 pre-being pregnant and commenced feeling flutters at 14 weeks, kicks at sixteen, and by using 17 my husband ought to sense her kicking whilst he placed his hand on my abdomen. At sixteen weeks her kicks weren't great solid however, they felt greater like somebody tapping on my abdomen. you would be extra alongside yet i could wait until the 20 week ultrasound whilst they do each and every of the measurements to estimate a due date.
