We can have more electric cars - it just takes more people like yourself to take the initiative. We can't wait for the big car companies to build them - they don't want to do it. But there are many small entrepreneurs doing it.
*
Why doesn't anybody know these cars exist? Because small companies don't have the ad budgets to get their message out. But if you buy one, and spread the word, more people will buy them - the EVs will get better and better - and the rest will take care of itself.

Don't believe the disinfo about electric cars polluting. Electric motors are several times more efficient than gas engines. Power plants burn fuel at much higher efficiency than your gas car does. And distributing electricity by wire is far, far more efficient than trucking fuel around the country.
*
All these efficiency improvements mean that the EV can travel farther on less energy. That means much less pollution per mile, no matter what the power plants burn. Plus, a large percentage of electricity is now made from non-polluting sources.

Because it's already been decidied that electric cars are not the way forward, they just shift the problem elsewhere and are not practical - not everyone has a drive or a garage where they can charge their car. Hybrids solved that problem to a degree but they still use a petrol engine.

The accepted replacement to the combustion engine is now a Hydrogen Fuel Cell, which is approximately ten to fifteen years away from being cost effective as a production vehicle.

though there are so many advantages u can gain from the electric cars..there also are disadvantages..and most importantly of all, the cost of manufacturing an electric car exceeds more than the car which use petroleum as fuel...and also electric car can't match the petrolium car in going a very long distance, design and in technology..I mean the technologies are advanced and if new ways of manufacturing the electric cars are found, I believe that in the near future, we can use electric cars in stead of petrolium cars..

you may want to ask the oil companies and the politicians that have no vision. I believe that electric cars, wind generated electricity, harnessing solar power etc are all ventues that would make us less depend on oil and the powerful oil magnates squelch all such endeavors. It is profoundly sad to me. With all the technology and brain power in the world - we remain in the dark ages when it comes to energy sources. It keeps the world at war, the environment eroding and keeps us all beholding to those that have and control oil.

sigh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They are too expensive, usually ugly, and don't (so far) have much range between charges.

There are several private manufacturers with very good e/cars that eliminate 2 of these problems.

BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT EFFICIENT ENOUGH TO WARRANT THE COST OF THE UPKEEP. AND THEY CANNOT HANDLE THE HIGHWAYS OF THE U.S.A. all cars would have to be that big. it would take a majopr societal change. and the commercial transportation is on the road as well.
