i'm in my early 20s.n i'm always feeling depressed abt work, sudies, family and money. When depression strucks , i binge. I feel useless because i totally don't have any control over myself at all. One minute, i'll be feeling happy, and the next minute i'll be feeling sad again for no rhyme nor reason.

Basically I feel that you need to find out what is the cause of your depression. You can actually consult a doctor who is able to provide you with the correct treatment. if you don't seek treatment early, it is not healthy for you in the long run.

Some people's brains don't handle the 'feel good' chemicals as well as others. That may be the case for you. If so, I'd suggest you see a good psychiatrist to see about an anti-depressant for a while. Many people overeat (especially carbohydrates) because the food acts like a sedative.

That can treat the physical part, but for the behavioral part, you might find a counselor or a support group (like Overeaters Anonymous) where people will understand and support your feelings.

By the way, what you're going through sounds pretty normal. People deal with the stress of life in different ways. Some ways are more socially acceptible than others.

I also have the same problem and it's really hard! I'm also finding ways how to stop myself from binging like doing other stuffs I'm interested in. Sometimes I try to travel by myself to different places--doesn't matter where as long as I can contemplate with myself and experience some sort of freedom and adventure. Do try to find other things to channel your attention. Food is not the only comfort we can have actually... we know that for ouselves but we couldn't help... it's food! But it's really your responsiblity and no one else's... at the present, i try very hard to watch the things (food) i put in my mouth... you can do it too! Learn more to control your impulses.

often times i've got self assurance depressed and hopeless. you need to be useful. attempt to do something which will make you sense greater suited. I start up feeling greater suited something else is going incorrect. I ought to be by using win the lottery with my undesirable success somethings have been given to furnish.
