when I see the current situation of the 21st century politices and social stracture( mined you I am not a professional in these regards), everything seems to be worsening. The political system advocated by ancient phiosophers such as "democracy", "Justice", 'egaliterianism", etc. seems to be theoritical devises to play the power play of politics in a very cunning manner. No political thoughts or ideas seems to be brining any relief to the suffering of man in this world. Don't count the less than 10 % the world population who seems to be economically better off (about the figure also I am not professional, forgive me)
Look at what is going on in Africa, Asia, latin America, midle-east, for that matter US and Europe. What hope do makind has to enjoy life to its fullness.

I think as human race, in most parts, we have become more tolerant of diversity, but at the same time, the religious and racial bigots are quite sizeable too, and can cause tremendous damage, whether by apartheid, racial discrimination, war of atrition, genocide, or acts of terrorism.

It seems more peaceful last time when nations appear to be far apart from each other, now that we are closer, the differences are also more pronounced, and conflict more easily flared up.

Intolerant, definitely yes. People only need the slightest excuse to either vebally or even physically abuse others. Barbaric, No. Just look back to the days of Genghis Khan etc. for barbarism.

Many are becoming lazy - an unfortunate product of our luxury. This means that almost everybody is fat as hell! It also means they are intellectually dim; unwilling to spend time in thought or heavy reading.

Barbarism isn't exclusively brought on by intellectual drift [see Nazis - the Germans were at the top - universities... - during the rise of Nazis], but in our present day case, I think laziness is doing us in.

I can not think or any era in history that was not intoerant and barbaric. You could take a map of the world and throw a dart...I could name something that had happened or is happening even now - almost anyway it lands.

Modern man is no more intolerant or barbaric then he ever was.

But because of modern communication techniques, we
hear about it sooner and more often, so it seems that way.

MERRY CHRISTMAS and have a nice day.

Thank you very much, while you're up.

Unfortunately, words have become so loaded these days, that it would literally depend on your interpretation of "more intolerant" and "barbaric."

I do not blame politicians for the state of affairs today. I blame liberal control of public education (and University).

But to answer, I think we are becoming intolerant of those who would seek to end the liberal assault on morality. And we have become tolerant of immorality.

Mostly, we have become apathetic and complacent.

Polotics and Religion. Its mixing to much. religion is behind every war this world has had. but now is getting so bad that religion is uses war to seek peace in the world. this religion praying for thier side to win. that religion praying for thier side to win. people killing themselves for their religion. its going so out of control that Politics will one day turn around and try to get rid of religion because they will have just Realized that religion is the cause of all the wars. then you and i will Sh*t our pant because im sure that is when God will step in.
