The Preamble of the Declaration of Independence states:

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed, by their Creator, with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness."

So according to the philosophy of the founders of this country, its obvious that this country was founded on the principle that freedom was not something that is granted by a government, but is the birthright of every human being. If this is the basis for human life, and the values we as Americans hold dear, are we not hypocrites to deny those who desire the same freedoms we enjoy every day? I say that anyone who wishes to deny another of the freedoms stated in our most precious historic document is not worthy of those same freedoms in the first place.

There are also man made laws in the U.S.A. that need to be abided by. Illegal is the man word. What happens if a citizen breaks the law? He/she gets punished. If they have respect then they would follow the law and enter "legally", remember Paris Island? And don't make a mockery of our founding fathers, their intent was never for non-Americans. And your, mine or their freedom does come at a cost it is loyalty and morally correct way to carry yourself here. Pay taxes and spend the money here. If they are illegal they are not doing so. Even though this country has become a chaotic fubar the people who have the brains should do right by everyone else and generations to come. Our country is going bankrupt for one reason or another and people with justification such as your helps it along. Illegal is just that, period!

Freedom is an unalienable right NOT US citizenship. People have the right to be free in their own country. Nowhere do the founding fathers state that the US should be the only free country in the world. No where do they state that we should not protect our boarders. It seems to me that you have taken their philosophy and applied it to an unrelated situation.

Every country on the world protects its boarders. Mexico protects its southern boarder with vigor to prevent immigrants and drug traffic from Central America. Mexico forbids even legal immigrants from certain rights and jails all illegals found.

Every country has laws, remember? It is a fact that alot of illegals who come accross the border are from countries like n. Korea, Comm. China, the ME. and that's why US wants to know who they are(also most drugs have come through TJ). The US should have had this down a long time ago, but the possibility of a North American alliance w/Mexico/Canada may be the agenda in tow.

They can do all that in America when they are legal citizens. That was a different world back then. With all the new laws in place and the way health care is, the illegals are driving up costs on every legal taxpayer in the country. It's too long to explain. If you don't know the reasons already then maybe you should do some homework and quit relying on us to give you an answer.

You got it all wrong. First the declaration was for unfair taxation. Illegals are causing my taxes to go up.
Illegals can pursue their Life, Liberty, and pursuit of happiness in their own country under their own identities.
By stealing ours they are infringing on my rights.

How is insisting they enter this country legally preventing them from being free? We are not denying them freedom.
Just access to this country until they can follow the rules.
You may call me a hypocrite for wanting others to follow the laws of this country. Denying them freedom to break our laws? Get real , get legal.

Because freedom does not mean a free ride. If a person is willing to immigrate here legally and go through the process of attaining legal citizenship and contribute to society then I don't care where they come from.

We taxpayers are angry because with all the advantages given to legal immigrants, there are millions that take advantage of that even as illegal immigrants.

What then does the term, ( illegal) imply. and to tell the truth, the only ones complaining are the ones who get caught doing the illegal thing, and since when did quoting the constitution become a handy tool for getting out of jams by the select few. I'm sorry but I do not buy your argument. What a convenience.

illegal immigration cost a lot of money. government doesn't have so much to cover for immigrants coming into the the country illegal. Illegal immigration also poses a threat on the safety of all the people living in the states.

So what you're saying is we should take ALL the poor and generally unhappy people in the world ( all 3-4 billion of them and bring them to the US ), it that the gist of that line of thinking, gee let me see now what's the best way to destroy this country, Hmmm, Hey I got it!! lets bring 3-4 billion people poor, unhappy, people, including who knows how many criminals, terrorists ( or terrorists in waiting ), and who knows what else. Great idea!!!. Do people give any actual thought to these pronouncements and what they mean in practice?
