Just wanna ask, if the opponent has to discard a card from his hand and there's none in his hand, what happens?? But there are cards in his library. So should he just discard the top card from the library??

no, if he has no card in his hand then the card that forced him to discard a card is fizzled (no effect)

its another thing if he needs to discard for an effect of his liking, like ''discard a card: deals 2 damage to enemy''. he really needs to discard something, or else it wont take effect

and no, he cannot just discard the top card of his library. unless an effect tells him so, if it says, discard from hand, then it must come from hand.

This is actually a highly debated question. Here is the answer: Go with what the card says. For example, the card does not say "Target opponent discards a card from his hand. If no card is in his hand, he must draw a card and then discard it." The card says that an opponent must discard a card from his hand. If he has no cards to discard, then basically, nothing happens. If you want your opponant to discard a card from his hand and he has no cards, you must be sure to play a spell FIRST that would cause your opponant to draw a card/cards. Once he has cards in his hand, then you can play your card to have him/her discard.

Nope. If the discard would be part of a cost he has to pay to do something, he can't do it. If you're making him discard, it just doesn't happen. Effects that remove cards from the deck are separate from discard.

has to be from his hand, if there are no cards in his hand, the effect of the spell fizzles (does nothing) if the discard was required as a cost, that ability/spell cannot be played.

and no effects triggered from a discard will be triggered (cards like megrim), if the target has no cards to discard.
