Where they are not allowed. I do not find restrictions.

I don't know where you have heard that, but that is an Urban legend, the most ridiculous restriction i have heard.Lungis are like skirts,if women are allowed to wear long skirts or as a matter of fact a sari,I don't see why men should not be allowed. My grandad wears a lungi at all times, even when he is travelling by flight,he has never told me that he was held back because of that.If it has happened it probably happened in some of the western countries, where they might have suspected a man wearing a lungi, probably because it seemed too strange to them, because they were ignorant of our dressing habits. It is just the imagination of an ignorant mind

I do not think there is any such restriction. But, even those who wear lungis normally, do not do it , while travelling by air.The reason could be that air travel is still considered to be a mode of travel by the elites and the high-brows. Even after, the democratisation of air travel, the process by which because of the fare reduction measures and competition, the relics of the old class prejudices still survive and work, imperceptibly.

I don’t know if there are any restrictions. However, if there are it is simply because a ‘lungi’ can hide a more lethal gun then the one the guy naturally carries down there.
