From memory its a citrate of some kind. Sodium Citrate? It reacts endothermically with the drink cooling it. Too much of it in the drink might be harmful though.

you need to purchase purification pills at any save that sells exterior components and tenting kit, you only positioned a pair of tabets in water and enable them to dissolve. while they're thoroughly dissolved you could drink it.

It has to be an endothermic reaction in water.
If you quickly alot dissolve ammoniumchloride (NH3Cl) in water, it would feel really cold.
