Mate, we never claimed to be the first British team to win a cup in Europe,We are the first British team to have won the European cup, that's what we claim and its true,no other British team won the European cup before us,other British teams won cups in other European tourney's,(uefa/fairs and cup winners cup)but we are the first to win the European cup.As you say,the ****'n'hens won the Vienna cup,but that was not the European cup.

Spurs won the now defunct European Cup Winners cup before Celtic won the European cup. The cup winners cup was played by the domestic cup winners of the european leagues untill 1999, possibly due to the expansion of the Champions league.
