Hi Eva!!!
The best way I can explain being a CHRISTIAN, is to search for GOD within yourself.
When you are searching for GOD within yourself it gives you clear insight of who you really are.
Most of the time we have to act and react accordinly with society. That in itself could take you away from yourself. Society rules one way but often one feels another.
To find yourself is to be at peace, but it doesn't mean that you should be comptent with just that. Whithin ourselves, there's always room to grow with the purpose to better ourselves
trying to achieve happiness, stability and truth!!!!
As individuals, we have so much to learn about ourselves,
that I consider our life time to be too short to ever reach to that level of awearness!!!!
We are constantly surrounded, by culture, society, religion,
and education where, other people opinions and convictions alters our own selves. We often speak, act, and do as others, because , "THAT'S WHAT WE ARE SUPPOSED TO".
When a person tries to find her or himself usually, don't follow the same pattern. Why because no one is the same, that's what makes humans so interesting!!!
Believing in GOD, is a good start !!! GOOD LUCK IN YOUR JEUORNEY!!!
GOD BLESS YOU
MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR

The inner you is your essential self, that is you behind your thoughts that are produced by you interaction with the world around you – thoughts can only recognised formal things in existence. Thoughts are not purely the thoughts of self, but they are operative as an interface between your inner mind and the world outside. You can get to this level simply by considering or contemplating what you are thinking. By becoming aware of your thoughts you can realise that you are the person who is thinking. Now, the question is - what are you if you were not thinking?
The things like love and devotion can take you even closer to your original self - the world beyond thoughts, and meaningfulness beyond words. But normally, it is not too deep as it sounds. You do not have to go too deep. You just have to be you, normal, and to be your self is to be able to do what you like to do, to feel good about yourself and to be able to enjoy good health and state of being generally signifies that you are just as close to yourself as you comfortably can and perhaps as you should.
But in order to go deeper within your mind you need to have a high purpose, higher than all that you can capture in your thoughts, and also an ability to maintain that state, otherwise you could get terribly lonely and lost within the self. You true self does not belong entirely to you, and therefore you can actually fall in love with your self, if so, then that would a life long affair, and then you must always take good care of yourself.

Well, meditation never has done all that much for me, although it is a proven route to knowing.
I go with the transendentalists who found spending time alone in nature a good way to learn about yourself. Nature offers so many lessons, about courage and patience, change, listening, paying attention to details, life and death. Also by focuing on nature instead of yourself, you feel part of the great universe of living creatures on earth, and you will never be alone.. . and nature is all around you even if you live in a city you can find it if you try.

yes meditation, go look into a lot of the Buddhist teachings, there a re a lot of different ways to meditate, so try a bunch of them, but personally I prefer flexing and releasing easch muscle and focusing on my breath, creates more of a bond between your body and you. One monk had said that the brain isn't always aware that it is alive.. so let it know that your body exists :) Anyways, from that point then you can move into deeper meditation. Follow the Dharma also, and really, all 26,000 buddhist teachings can be summed up in two words "be kind".
So, meditation and lifestyle change.

Meditation is the answer here. Focus on yourself as a child and as a baby. Remember back to times when you were young. Imagine yourself holding yourself as a baby and try not to be too critical over things that have gone wrong over the years.

we`re connected to creation with or without our knowledge
so if you ask you`ll receive, knock on the door it will be opened
to you, so ask our creator to show you the inner you. you are
giving a free will to choose to grow or not. choose to grow then
you will know yourself, you`ll find you`re connected to eternal
life.simple enough for a child to understand...

Truth. Be honest with yourself, take time out, listen to you (not the other mind chatter). And when you are truly happy you know that you have found yourself and that you are listening to and satisfying your needs.

I think by thinking under the surface, when a problem rises! It's very important to be critical to yourself, but not to put all the blame on you! You have to keep a balance!
