There is a trend now in companies and other employers having employees of both genders work in a way that is different from the old 9-5 we've known up until now. Companies have people working at home on laptops, job-sharing, consulting, etc. So, for one thing, I think working will be a thing that is easier for mothers and fathers of small children to do.

I'm fairl certain getting married early and having children early is a thing of the past and not the future - at least not for people who have some degree of ambition and the understanding that children do better when born into parents who are mature and ready to have children.

I think the term, "housewife", will be retired even if women stay at home and care for their children. Its a horrible word that should have disappeared 50 years ago.

My vision of the "role model" of the future would be for men and women to get excellent educations and do a little career-building for a while. If they got married in their late twenties or early thirties they would have the earning potential to provide a decent quality of living for their family. I envision men and/or women working together to decide who will stay at home, who will work, who will work from home, etc. Ideally, I'd hope that mothers would stay with their children until the children are school age. Mothers who are organized could still do some work on a part-time basis if they wanted to.

I envision that once children are school age mom or dad or both will be in the house when the children get there. They'll work together to figure out who gets who to baseball, violin lessons, etc.

In other words, I envision that in the not-so-distant future men and women and children will be much closer to having it all both as individuals and as couples and families.

I hope women will get rid of all repressive and imposed role-models, being they a Perfect Housewife, Mother Mary, Barbie or Laura Croft, and decide to be what they are and what they want to be. Most women nowadays need both family and children on the one and career on the other side and what women now are trying to achieve is to reconcile, as much as possible, those two"roles". In the future, I hope, they won't need to make such a hard and unfair choice that almost no man was forced to make - to be either a parent or a professional. This dilemma is experienced as unpleasant and repressive by almost every woman and I do hope the society will be more progressive to make possible for them to have both.

Future role model woman chooses a career of her choice, husband of her choice, decides the number of children she should have, decides the dishes she wants to cook and expects family members to share work and joy.

LOL...only a feminist would see the role of house-wife as repressive. There's nothing repressive about it if that's what a woman chooses to do. As the lies and fallacies that feminism is based upon are revealed to the public at large, feminism will slowly die. Oh it won't happen overnight...there are plenty of die-hards in denial of scientific facts and full of the delusions planted in their minds at an early age. But it will die. Women will return to their traditional roles because that's where they excel and are happiest. Feminism has told women that they must have a career to be happy, and those that have bought into this will never know the full-measure of happiness and peace of mind that comes with running her house-hold. I feel sorry for them, but though you can lead a feminist to water she can still refuse to drink...especially if she's been convinced that the water is repressive. (LOL) It's Eve and the serpent in the Garden of Eden all over again...history always repeats itself.

Well, most of the planet is trending away from that as it is NOT economically feasible, and early marriages & children are usually the most impoverished . Hopefully women are getting smarter & getting skills and waiting to have kids so they can actually take good care of them.
