Did he do the right thing! Gross dude! Leaving the casual homosexuality aside you should be aware of the levels of aids in South east asia. I know sex is a booming business for tourists but anyone who sleeps with a hooker is asking for trouble.

He should get himself checked for HIV. I'm not kidding. I read nearly half of the street workers have it.
