No, At the end of the day we are all human beings. I honestly do not think that people can be more brain wahsed than others, but I think that a number of reasons contribute to the surge in violence in the middle east;

1- In general, Islam to muslims is beyond important. In the west religion does not play an important role in the everday lives of people nor the government. In muslim countries, society, economy & politics revolve around religion.

2- It is easy to manipulate the mind of a person who has absolutely nothing to lose. Poverty, ignorance helped create a generation of desperate young men. Reaciton to poverty and dispair can take different forms; either being brain washed into extreme religious interpretations or simply crime.

3- The Palestinian - Israeli conflict is in the core of the problem, why? simply because the extremists use the conflict to convince the young, desperate generation that the West is evil for supporting Israel financially & militarily. To them Israel is an occupying regime, that sized their land, killed their relatives and with the assistance of the west they are now a recognized country.

Islam does not incite violence and we have lived for thousands of years in peace with each other, only recently did we start feeling this new trend. I personally think it is a product of extremism gaining ground and this is happening because young men are too poor, too ignorant to know what is right and what is wrong.

It has nothing to do with geographical location and it's not brain washing.

When life is easy religion takes a back seat, when life is tough people look for a a reason for their hard luck. Up until 30 years ago life was tough in the middle east, as it is in any desert region of the world, so they embraced a religion to give them a reason why life was hard. It is easier to blame a God for making your life hard than yourself.

I expect to see religion loose its importance in the middle east over the next hundred years or so as water is now more readilly available and they have the money, thanks to oil, to buy impoted food.

Since the middle east is the birthplace of Judaism, Christianity and Islam one could argue that there is something about it that inspires religious fervor. I am not sure religious people would agree to using the term brain washing, although I would.

in case you're speaking approximately terrorists their motivations are not often non secular. they might use faith as an undemanding gadget for recruitment, yet via committing the homicide of innocents they have already condemned themselves interior of their faith. in the event that they definitely believed of their faith then they might no longer devote the acts that they do. in case you're discussing Palestinian suicide bombers, i've got faith that their motivation is greater one in each and every of desperation than faith. non secular leaders international, in basically about all prepared religions use faith as a potential to guard potential and administration over their flock of sheep, and to verify that they've a secure economic destiny. faith is the potential, potential and money are the incentive. If this weren't actual then no church might have any high priced trappings, the leaders does not rigidity fancy automobiles or positioned on high priced outfits or rings till there have been not greater hungry people interior the international. the easy rules preached via all significant present day religions are relatively comparable, so is the brush aside of the guidelines they carry forth.

They aren't. Just look at all the right wing Bible thumping Protestant maniacs in the American south or in British Occupied Ireland. These lunatics are just as bad as anything in the middle east it is just that the Right wing Western media does not show this

I feel the people of the middle east take their beliefs more seriously. And before you all jump on the bandwagon I understand that we have millions of devout Christians in this country. I feel they are brainwashed, if you like, from an early age. I mean some women are using their kids as decoys and then going on suicide missions. To me they have to have been brainwashed to kill their kids in such an inhumane way!

No, its just the way their culture has taught them. They may think the same about us. Just like language, why do other countries have different languages? Is there a "right" language or religion? Maybe we are all wrong. Are christians all brainwashed also? Jews?
