This is my first baby...very excited but nervous of giving birth, fear of the unknown i guess. I started cleaning more than usual last night, pulled the kitchen apart, re-aranged all my cupboards and then started on the living room. i had a sudden burst of energy at 4am this morning so got out of bed and started cleaning again. i have been told the nesting usually starts 2 weeks before labour starts. Is this true?

The nesting period can happen at any time of pregnancy, it is more common for it to be close to the day of birth but I had it quite early on. Was cleaning frantically from about 3 months. So don't worry. Giving birth is the most amazing thing you will ever do, yep, it hurts but when it's over you will feel like you can conquer the world. Good luck with your new bundle!

if that is the case, then I would still be pregnant!! I never got a nesting period. However, I've heard it could be pretty much any time in the last month, and in most cases that I know, it has happened within a couple of days before labor started. My sister nested all day with her first and went into labor that night.

I never had the nesting thing but my friend did last year on 23rd of December and ended up giving birth to a son on Christmas Eve, 3 and a half weks early!!
Be careful, this time tomorrow you could be nursing a baby!!

yes-we women tend to nest the entire last month. Let me give you a tip-after you have the baby,when it's sleeping -do something for yourself a relaxing bath,a nap, whatever you need to do to relax and don't worry about the housework.Let your body rest.

I've had 2 babies am 38 weeks pregnant with my third i've never had the nesting instinct!! strange how people differ!! good luck!!

Yes it is true! My twin sister had it n my big sister had it, its getting the home ready to bring baby into! Weird i know but good luck

yes.. it is actually true.
one month before going into labor... i was cleaning the whole house everyday. if i don't find anything to clean, i ask my huby to make a new set of mess so i have a reason to clean again.
it is wierd... but it's quite normal.

i have just started my 3rd trimester and I am nesting already, so I dont think there is any set rule to this xx
