With all our surveilance technology and security and the fact that we are now on guard for such things, is it really likely that we will be hit again like we were on 9/11?

Definitely, there are millions and millions of people in this world. Unfortunately many of them very hateful and very intelligent. It would be impossible to track every human on this earth no matter how much surveillance there is.

Something like 9/11 could happen again - but not the same thing as 9/11 - the next time it could be much worse. But if you look at the bombings in Madrid, London, and Mumbai you know such things already have happened. So far we are just lucky it hasn't happened again on US soil.

Well unless they build a World Trade Center 2, its not going to happen again. But chances are strong that something will be attacked in some way or form. You forget, that there have been attacks since in various counties, such as Spain and the UK (which i missed by barely hours!) My guess is the new building going up in place of the World Trade Center will become a target for terrorists as it represents freedom... To the USA... lol

The Mexican border IS WIDE OPEN, ANYONE CAN WALK IN, AND THEY DO. The problem is illegal immigration, company's make lots of money using them (it's cheaper). Unfortunately the tax payer has to pick up the tab. Big Company's donate a lot of money to both political party's, that's why it is never discussed much in politics. With the back door open, you can bet strike two is going to get here, this time I fear it will be worse, then maybe we'll wake up all the "bleeding hearts", that are pro-illegal immigration, the U.S. is now at war, and it is a HUGE security risk not to put a temp. ban on ANY immigration to this country NOW ! Mine field the damn border, THIS IS A NO BRAIN-ER !

no, the people on those planes thought they were going to Cuba, that won't happen again, you can't take a plane with a box cutter now the passengers would fight, some of them anyway
