You cant fix them for a practical price so I say buy a new one I did

This is what is called as last stage...If it stopped reading the CD then remember that lens in the drive ha slost is memory where it finds/search Data, its just same that a person is having eyes clear and sharp but cannot see.... So its just wastage of time and money to buy lens cleaner and other products...Just do one thing..open the drive and check the lens if its blue in colour then it still have some life and if its white then just replace the lens of same model number or better get Scrab writer(which is one of the Best DVD Writer and a double layer Writer)...

Go to Radio Shack and buy a CD lens cleaner disc. Seems the lens on your player is dusty and just needs to be cleaned.
It's cheap and easy.
