When you talk to people philosophically do you find that most of the time the people you are in conversation with look at you like you are a mental case for giving an educated opinion rather then a smart remark?

Hi road_rage...!!!!

No philosophy is not a mental illness!!!. It is actually one of the very intricate way of gathering your KNOWLEDGE, MORALS, OPINIONS and FAITH, in ones own words actually for the benefit of society. To better ourselves.

Usually people are conditioned to get most of everything
without much efforts, even in daily life you see people they don't really want to think much, or go trough much trouble.

When some one meets a person that likes to find an intelligent and deep explanations of things; usually the philosopher gets rejected, because is either misunderstood or taken for a fool.

People like everything already made(in boxes), when some one steps out of the box, then they consider you "NOT NORMAL".

Do not get discourage by this people, I suggest, you find groups, that share the same interests. And remember, that........
"MUSICIANS, POETS AND CRAZY" every body has a bit of it!!!!

So who knows one of this days, you'll be the next .........
NOBEL PRICE WINNER!!!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!

GOD BLESS YOU
MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR

Philosophy is the awareness of man that one can never achieve real wisdom (sophia), but at least can approach it, love it (philein -to love, have someone or something as dear). Most people cannot even approach it, you know, replacing actual life with "alleged" thought and using a philosophical language to people who would never do so in the same situations. As someone said, Life is Action, Not Production (or Reproduction of Ideas and Other People's Experience, I add).

Neither. Atheism is a unmarried, isolated opinion. It doesn't have a gadget it slots into, so it truly isn't any longer a philosophy. neither is it a psychological ailment, because it doesn't have those useful houses both. i assume you think it contains persisting in a conception even with overwhelming information on the opposite. it is actual very uncomplicated and not in any respect unavoidably a demonstration of psychological ailment. for instance, the international appears to be like flat, heavy gadgets look to fall quicker than mild ones and cats look effective.

dont be discouraged by it. Its not a mental illness.
If the person who uses that gaze is dumb, s/he is feeling insecure about not understanding enough to even respond.
However, if the person is smart, or in a superior position, then that look is one that says "dare you challenge me?"
either way, dont back down. asking questions is what keeps man alive anyways.

Yes, its a mental illness. There is no cure for logic. many experts have tried to fix this but have had poor progress.

No it's not.

It's just that most people just can't accept another way of thinking. Because they don't understand, they try to justify themselves by thinking you have a mental illness. it's just to make them feel good.

philosophy is only an illness when you stray from the true path. Any time someone uses rhetoric to propogate their desires over another, it is an illness. Whenever someone uses logic to rationalize murder it is an illness, and whenever someone uses poor reasoning to rationalize wicked things it is an illness.

Judging by what philosophy does to my friends, yes it does change the way you think, and people including myself start to challenge everything., which can irritate people.

Yes, people do.

But then, it'll do one thing for you. It'll let you know what kind of people they are. As in whether they're shallow or deep, stupid or smart, etc.

So its a no-loss.
