On Christmas Eve, my husband and I and our kids gather with my sister at my parents house and we exchange gifts. Then on Christmas Morning, the kids get their gifts from Santa and us. hubby and I don't buy for each other anymore, we go out for a long dinner on the Saturday before Christmas. which is way better than gifts! Spending 6 hours alone with him, with no interruption is heaven! We live an hour and half away from the city, so we drive in and then go to the Olive Garden which is our favorite place to eat. so factor in our typical time at the restuarant ( 3 hours) and our 3 hour commute time and it is just the most wonderful gift we can give each other!

In my country (Iceland) people exchange presents on Christmas eve (December 24th).

family tradition is we have the sock on Christmas eve and gifts on Christmas Day.

This year, we're getting them on Christmas Eve, but other years, its been as late as 27th of December! As long as its roughly 24th - 30th, I reckon its still ok.
