No way. Sri Lanka have an opening partnership of Upal Tharanga and Sanath Jayasuriya compared with New Zealand's Craig ******* and Jamie How. Tharanga is in fine form, and Jayasuriya is the most destructive ODI player in the world at the moment. ******* and How are both distinctly average players.
Kumar Sangakkara showed his class with a wonderful hundred in the last test and is sure to provide the same clean striking of the ball and fast scoring in the one-day arena. Matt Sinclair has a boring ODI average of 28, and has scored just two centuries. Stephen Fleming is another good player, but lacks the batting support to make a real impact. Mahela Jayawardene on the other hand is a terrific batsman who has no end of support, having just this year been involved in the highest partnership ever.
At five for New Zealand is Nat Astle who is a classy player and is thousands of times better than Sri Lanka's number five, Chamara Kapugedera.
Jacob Oram is a decent number six, but Chamara Silva's outstanding 152* showed his capability as an aggresive and exciting strokemaker.
Brendon McCullum has scored four half centuries in 88 matches but is a good keeper, whilst Prasanna Jayawardene showed his worth in the second test, playing some very nice strokes to accompany Silva, and anyone who takes the gloves off Kumar Sangakkara must be good.
New Zealand's spinner Daniel Vettori is another great player, but easily bested by , Muttiah Muralitharan, who has taken 425 ODI wickets to Vettori's 170.
James Franklin and Farveez Maharoof are both distinctly boring bowlers who cancel each other out.
The opening bowlers for each team are stark contrasts to each other. Shane Bond and Chris Martin have taken 103 ODI wickets between them, whereas Lasith Malinga, who is being hailed as one of the brightest prospects in Sri Lankan cricket, has already taken 31 wickets at 25.48, and Chaminda Vaas is one of the best bowlers in ODI cricket, with 363 wickets at an average of 27.18 and an economy of just 4.20.
In the end there is just no contest, and I predict a 2-0 20twenty win for Sri Lanka, and a 4-1 ODI win, the 1 for New Zealand coming from a century for Stephen Fleming and a five-for from Danny Vettori.

an ideas-blowing and thrilling activity-properly for the Sri Lankan followers besides.. Sri Lanka received by technique of an excellent innings and 239 runs,a significant crew attempt.. 4 centuary makers and Murali amassing 5 wickets in both 1st and 2d innings..and also Mendis doing an ideas-blowing activity at the different end with the ball.. is going as an example crew India that even the 'oldies' can score one hundred's.. convinced i imagine this 'thrashing' on the fingers of Murali and Mendis would have the Indian batsmen practise very not undemanding over the subsequent 4 days, till the 2d try begins, which i also forcast to be yet another Lankan win... perchance Sachin may be able to recuperate from 25 contained in the subsequent adventure and develop into the optimal scoring batsman in history,he in effortless words desires round one hundred fifty more beneficial runs to make history..

Both the teams have good record in the recent past. NZ are playing in their country and has better knowledge of the conditions and if they could tackle Murali, Lanka stands no chnace. Murali could be the differnce between the two teams.
