A normal human brain retains about 15% of memory of a particular item, event/ topic for the 1st time. If it is not referred again, it will vanish. So you can try to refer the valuable things atleast more than 2/3/4 times. Other thing you may not remember. Apart from this folliwng are the memory boosters.
1. 'Early to bed and Early to rise'
2. 'No Alcohol/smoking.
3. Timely taking food.
4. Meditation.

Scientists are only recently discovering that Aspartame, or Nutrasweet, as well as Splenda is causing memory loss. If you are dieting and drinking diet sodas or using diet sweeteners, you might try getting off them for awhile. This happened to me when my mom passed away; for about 3 months I was trying to keep up with things by staying highly caffeinated and drinking diet coke constantly...nearly 6-12 cans per day. Once I stopped, my memory returned fairly quickly.

Well, concentration does a miracle in memorising things. U read things, analyse it and when away from books the content, facts that u read not mere a text what u read. when ur in bath room u can devote few moments to that. You will find that those things will be in your memory for a long. Wish u a best.
