Getting a switch or router is a good place to start. Then you have to make sure that all the PCs are connected to the switch/router either via a regular network cable or wirelessly.

Next, make sure that all the PCs are running on an OS that allows shared internet connection. (earliest working version is Win 98)

I would individually run the network wizard on each PC and select the option to share internet via a gateway computer.

If you are using XP Pro, it should be a breeze.

You Can Get a router from linksys, but i prefer dlink and then connect your pC to the WAN Port and Connect the other 4 to the LAN Port Conncet your MAIN Pc to the net and share inter net access, brw, you must change the configuration of your connection by right-clicking it and select properties and click "share" or something like that. It wont work on shortcuts though.... so find it in you connections folder on control panel.
