ive seen an instrument used in electronic music and i can not fnd it anywhere on the computer... it is a little box or pad of some sort and you wave your hand in front of it in different ways and it produces a synthasized sound... nine inch nails uses one as well as infected mushroom. does anyone know the name of this or where i can find one? if u have seen on comp send me a link.

I believe you are looking for the instrument the Theremin. Hope this helps :)

Draggostea is correct, the theremin or thereminvox, invented by Russian physicist and spy Lev Sergeivich Termen.
This instrument was used quite a bit for background spooky music in 1950's science fiction movies. Here's an article (see source below).
Draggostea should be your pick for best answer. I only looked up the term, although I am familiar with "Leon Thermin" as a spy from (I think) The History Channel.
