Why is it when we dont want to get pregnant we DO, and when we do, we DONT? I wasn't on the pill for over a year in 2004/5 and my boyfriend and I were very sexually active but never got pregnant, and then when we split up I fell pregnant :( but I didnt feel I was in the right situation to have the baby as there was a lot of problems between us. Now, I have been off the pill for 4 Months and can't get pregnant.....

Did you have an abortion with your first pregnancy? That can cause some problems with getting pregnant again.

It usually takes at least 6 months to get pregnant after stopping the pill though. I planned for that 6 months and got pregnant in 2 weeks which I didn't think was even possible. I think it was the fact that I wasn't really trying, I didn't plan on trying until after that 6 months and it just happened.

It's possible that you might have fertility issues but you need to let some time go by and not really try too hard to conceive. It's amazing anyone can get pregnant with all the factors considered in conceiving but it happens and sometimes when you least expect it to.

Good luck and don't try too hard...give yourself that 6 months to a year and then worry about it. There is no need to rush it and once you do have your baby you will know what I mean. Take time and enjoy every part of it from conception to birth and after, it really goes by quickly once you look back on it. Best wishes to you.

If it takes you longer that a year (really trying not just having unprotected sex or using pull out) then you should talk to your OBGYN. they will do for you what they can and if they can not help you then they will send you to an RE (fertility specialist). and they will help you. Only 80% of women get PG in the first 6 months. So don't worry about not getting PG fast. 95% of women have something wrong with there Fallopian tubes and don't even know it. And of that percentage only 10% of them have problems. So you see your chances of having a problem are kinda high but then again your chances of having a problem and getting PG are high as well.

You could consider taking your temperature every morning before you get up. You should see a clear dip in your temp on the day of ovulation. This gives you a better idea of when you're most fertile. You should be having sex from 3 days before ovulation up to the day after. This will give you the best chance of conception. Fertilityfriend.com has a free charting service that can also answer most of your conception questions.

four months isn't very long, even without taking into consideration that u have just finished taking the pill. the average time it takes to conceive is about 10 month / 1 year !!! just give it time, i'm sure it'll all happen in time. if u are desperate to get pregnant as soon as possible, get one of those ovulation kits from the chemist's, and u will be able to see when u are at your most fertile. good luck.

I've heard that after sex try laying on your back with your legs up i9n the air and cycling your legs round as if you were on a bicycle this is because then the sperm can reach the womb faster! only a suggestion! xx

Stress. Wanting something and building up hopes that are dashed are not good for the body. Being relaxed and happy gives the body a chance
