Sorry to disappoint you, but Bristol is not a particularly good place for industry. There are road links to London and a seaport
but the area has no history of industry so you will not find many people with a background of factory benches, engineering and other skills associated with industry. Much depends on the industry you have in mind and the skills you seek. You can find those skills more likely in the industrial heartlands of Britain - the Midlands, Lancashire and Yorkshire. But for quality of life Bristol offers a lot more.

It has good road and rail infrastructure and a good sized airport although the road link to the airport needs upgrading.
being at the junction of m4 and m5 is very stragegic and it is a gateway to the westcountry while only being 2 and a half hours by road from london and just over 1.5 from birmingham.
because it has not been a centre for heavy industry it isnt always looking to its past. it has excellent office locations for the use of industry like call centres

Bristol is the gretest place for industry as the prices for property etc are not that high as yet compared to places like london.....
also its ease to find the city as well is good, basically 1 hours from every major city in the south!

It has got good road links - M4, M5, A38, A37, A39. And good rail, Airport and shipping links.
It also used to be in the Somerset Coalfields, and close to the south wales coalfields as well.

bristol is a great place for business however from a health standpoint ... all of east tn is a bad place to live, you will stay sick!
