You'll have to paint, varnish or replace the unfinished cedar/redwood anywhere around your home. You may have rot-resistant woods because you thought you wouldn't have to do those things but soft woods are very attractive to wood-boring bees. Wood stains don't do it because they don't repel enough. All wood gives off a decay odour which attracts bees. Caulk holes in wood decks and siding.

BTW - Bees are attracted to the blue-yellow area of the colour spectrum, as they cannot see red.

Either control access or seal holes. Use of strong smell frequently may help

lowers has various repellants but there is no way to keep them off permanetely

you need to seal the wood if its not already
or a stain will do to.
