In order to win this guy back whoever he is, you have to figure out what you are going to say and how you are going to present, you have mean everything you say to him so that he will know you are not playing games with just for fun and you really want him. Whatever affair this is I hope it does not involve anyone else or you will have more on your hand then you know what to do with. If he is any kind of a man he will make sure whatever decision that he makes is the right one and that he will not have any regrets. If he comes back to you don't give him a reason to leave you because they next time you might not get so lucky.

first, be sure you want him really back, i mean...is not a wimp for you
after that, when u clear have in your mind what you want, go to him, talk and remember him all the good times you shared together and how great can be in the future
talk open with him about your feelings, admit you did some mistakes and after that make him understand the relationship you had was uniq, and it has to be back..
if he loved u in the past so much, i think he is still loving you, deep inside his soul, he wants you back, but he is afraid of get hurt again.
hav pacience, but...dont let him out from your side:)) you know what i mean

you are going about it the wrong way.we need food and water to live.but here you say you need him.you are scaring him off men dont like to see a woman needing him in this way a man like his woman to be a bit of independs.maybe you may want to think about moving on maybe next time you can do things different in your relationship.
