Yes, am suppose Kuala Lipis is a small town in Pahang, Malaysia. In 1898 it used to be the capital of Pahang and it was a gold-mining center before the British arrived in 1887.
During this time, grand colonial buildings, such as the imposing District Offices and the Clifford School (where the sultan studied), and the Pahang Club were built. The hilltop house of the British Resident is now a hotel and museum.
The town grew and prospered with the coming of the railway in 1924. However, in 1957, the state capital was shifted to Kuantan, and Kuala Lipis fell into a decline. It is now a sleepy and picturesque town with reminders of a once important past.

look like you are the new comer, i have answered one similar question about Kuala Lipis before, anyway no harm repeating it for the sake of you !

There are two ways we can travel to Kelantan from Kuala Lumpur, the coaster road is get to Kuantan then up north. Alternatively through Gua Musang, get to Bentong then Raub then get pass Kuala Lipis before reaching Gua Musang then up north. Its quite a boring route unlike the coaster road where the blue sea is a great soothing view for long distance travelling.

Not many know of Kuala Lipis except its the birthplace of famous singer Siti Nurhaliza[now Datuk], n there is nothing much to offer other than stop for break during your journey to Kelantan. For anglers, the river is a hunting ground for fresh water prawns n some fishes. No special tourist attraction.

The train to Kelantan do passes through Kuala Lipis as well shortly after Jerantut n Kuala Tembeling's stations.

Kuala Lipis is a town with many Malay people. ChickenCurry's Engrish is about the level of what you would find there. Good luck and try not to stop unless you need petrol or have a flat.

Siti Nurhaliza came from there but she decided to leave while the leaving was good. She couldn't find a rich old man to marry in the town.
