Unhappiness involving the couple, no respect for each other, Communication gap, Ego problems, close mindeness and least talked (& more important) Sexual Disharmony, Financial stress are the main reasons of Divorce. In India, THe added reason is Dowry & Trouble given by In laws does make a contribution. Also Financial Independance of ladies has contributed in the Increased rate of Divorce( This opinion may seem Biased but is a fact) Also 3 W's contribute viz., Wealth( either absense/too much), another Woman & Wine are also reasons.

Marriage is a social custom which we have to follow for the smooth functioning of a society. Today marriage has become a matter of convenience. I have seen men marrying women only because of her beauty; and I have seen women marrying men for the sake of money, power, status etc. Most of these marriages will end up in divorce; they can't help it.
I think it is a part of our evolution. Man would like to have a soft and kind woman at home; an aggressive woman on the bed and a wise woman to be his companion. In the same way, women also have her priorities. Then I think in the future, we are going to witness a revolution in which marriage will be given up.
Divorce is a reality. It has arrived.

Well, I think all divorces boil down to one thing, really: monumental problems and an unwillingness on the part of one or both parties to act like adults, take responsibility for their behavior and their marriage, and compromise to make things work.
That's not to say that a person should put up with a cheating spouse, or someone who gambles away the rent money every single month, or someone who hits when they get angry. But it's important to note that people in those situations are dealing with an unreasonable spouse who is not acting like an adult and who refuses to take responsibility for their behavior, which just goes back to what I said above.
Marriage is a work in progress, and it takes two willing participants to make it work. If it isn't working, and the only option is a divorce, it's because one or both of them are acting like children instead of like responsible adults.

Infidelity is one of the main reasons of divorce. A woman when she gets to know that her husband is not faithful to her prefers to opt for divorce. A husband has no other choice than to pursue divorce when he comes to know that his wife is having an affair with another man.
Too much of money and freedom too when not utilized well lead to divorce.

When you analyze a marital problem you will almost always find that the root cause is ‘a clash of egos’ The main reason for divorce Is therefore “EGO”

Divorce in marriage occur due to lack of communication, unaware of the attitude and reactions, lack of time to spend together, influence of others in the married life, special interests that are undisclosed, inabiliity to accept others feelings, weak and arrogant mentality, coveting parential property of spouse, interference of in-laws and different other reasons. For example, if spouse is not well-health, non-production of food or medicine in time, etc., LACK OF UNDERSTANDING THE CIRCUMSTANCES VIS-A-VIS activities/projects is also a very serious reason
