approved of anything he wanted to do. I said well, what if he bumps you and knocks out a tooth or pokes out an eye. She didn't see any harm in "playing". Am I wrong that ppl should keep thier hands out of other ppls face? Or is she enabling him to do as he please and defy authority in the future and disrespect ppl around him?

She is indeed enabling him to become a selfish rude person when he grows older, always demanding what he wants, and never considering the consequences of his actions.

For some strange reason grandchildren seem to be able to do things that we as children would never have been allowed to do by our parents. when my son was young and asked for things (that I would have been laughed at for asking for) he generally got them. Yes she is enabling bad behavior, it is not our place to point it out to others though. Someday he will "flap" his hands in the face of the wrong person and they will cure that problem for him.

You don't say how old? Will it be funny when he's a teenager. There's nothing playing about it.
