How can I fix this problem? I can never open it up.

Are you opening my computer and clicking on the removable drive?

the files could have been saved by another operating system that uses Fat or Fat16, Or fat32. And NTFS which is new, does not read information from older fat systems and vice-versa. Or simply the Disk Drive needs to be formatted, to many read and writes still corrupts data from time to time.

if it is not been open in some other systems then it should be of hardware problem (jump dirve)
and in case if it is opening on some other machines then
it should be either your usb port problem../
try to insert in other ports you have..
if it is not recogonising in all the ports..
check wheter usb dirvers are properly installed on your machine
fix this it ll start working

are you sure that drivers are properly installed? try to plug it into different usb ports(if you have more than one)..usually some usb ports are low speed..if your jump drive uses USB 2.0 then it won't work with usb 1.0 port
