"Fortune Favours The Bold" is what Alexander The Great once said.
"If You Really Want Something, You Must Work Hard And Never Give-Up" is what my parents used to say.
I've always thought both bits of advice are basically the same idea, just said differently according to the speaker, the listener and the time it was said.
Needless to say, I'm always out fighting to obtain my goals, to climb the ladder and to be the best possible person I could be :-)

Always look both ways before crossing the street...just kidding. The best advice I have ever been given wasn't someone telling me it was from someone's life. My dad was always a servant and from that I learned to help others when they needed it without bragging about it to the whole world but doing it in private. That is the best advice that I have been given because my dad never said do this but he showed me in the way he lived his life.

Stay in with uni, no matter what.
It has helped immensely, not only in terms of intellectual development, but in areas of self-fulfillment, and as I pursue graduate studies, a measure of financial comfort. Not riches, but having more than I would have imagined just a few years ago.
That and the comfort of knowing that if I were to stop school now, I can probably earn a reasonable living, far more than without an education.

When i was about 6 years old i remember my dad telling me to always stand up for yourself, if someone is trying to bully you, punch them in the face, but never hit girls because only cowards that daren't hit men do that.
Thanks dad, 34 years later that advice has served me well, especially the bit about not hitting girls - but the two bosses that i've smacked might not agree with you.

Never dwell on the things that you can't change. Deal only
with what YOU can do something about. The rest is not worth
thinking about. Yes, my parents always gave good advice.

If you really want something, you'll find a way of getting it'. That came from a spoilt brat with very rich parents but it worked at the time.
