Why do so many people go to other countries 2 help others when there r so many people right here that need it?

There's a niche in the world for everyone. Some peoples' talents may help people in another part of the world, but be ignored by their neighbors down the street.

In just about all cases here in USA there is help already available for every group. Not everyplace in the world has such an abundance of wealth. The poorest American (who is drug and alcohol free, and without mental illness) would be considered a rich man in 90 % of the world.

The "poor" of America whine and moan a lot, but have shelter and food if they take advantage of the help available. No one in USA would be poor and hungry if it weren't for DRUGS, ALCOHOL AND MENTAL ILLNESS. (plus a healthy dose of just plain old laziness)

The only reason I can think of is that here in America there are so many opportunities for people that it makes people wonder what help they need. In other countries they don't have the ability or access to education, water, medicine w/out our help.

Becausesomeof the problems here are small comparaed to problems in thrid world countrys. Even though we do have big problems the people in this country havealot more resource and opprtuites to better themselves. In third world countries do not have that luxurie.

Cause they are idiots. They get more recognition if they go abroad and do it. I know a guy that went over to india when the tidal wave hit to help out. He brags about it all the time, but he is also the guy that calls the cops when the homeless guys outside the office get to close to his mercedes.

I'm not sure where 'here' is for you, but where I live there is no need for anybody to go without the necessities of life. Our welfare system ensures thatall who need and can't afford things themselves only have to ask.( I'm in Canada, by the way)
