It was great back in the early 70's when it was a unique idea, the updating of phantom of the opera/faust legends with little paul williams as the devil. A few good songs that sound great thru a theatre sound system.

it's definitely a dated cinematic curio piece now. my favorite tune was the movie opener: we'll remember you forever eddie. great ode to the the danny of the juniors groups of the 50's (but with a barrio accent added for the east LA crowd.

Haven't seen it in years, but have been tempted to get the DVD. Quite creepy. My enduring memories would be the Phantom getting bricked up in a studio, that image of the Phantom open-mouthed with his black lipstick, and the final unmasking. Oh, and Paul Williams in the bathtub making a Faustian pact (as you do). And a lesbian romp. Interesting film.

Out of curiosity, I just searched for the film on YouTube, and it appears someone has uploaded the whole movie.

I've seen it. Weird movie, but sometimes weird is good.
