Recording copyrighted VHS tapes to DVDR?

Does this work if you first hook your VCR into a camcorder and record. Then hook the camcorder into the DVDR and record. I don't want to pay the $100 for the devices to remove the copyrights from VHS tapes.

Save yourself some trouble. Go to www.torrentz.com and download a DVD quality copy of the movie. They have most of them there.

I connected my vcr to one of the a/v inputs on my DVDR and it worked fine - with a copyrighted movie
